I’ve worked at King’s for about six years. I’ve worked with some amazing people, really good leaders, and I’ve been able to educate and support lots of different staff, and that makes me proud to be part of Team King’s.

We all pull together. We all work together. It’s always learning opportunities. There’s chances to do different courses, supervise and help develop other members of staff. I think King’s teams, we see a lot of different patients, and it’s really important to make a difference in their lives and their care.

Come and meet us and just talk to the people because I can show you a long list of people who love their job. You may get us on a day when we’re feeling tired and worn out, but it doesn’t take long to remember why we love working here, and your day is constantly varied. There’s something for anyone to do whatever their skills are.

I would definitely thank my colleague Tracy Reed, who is my counterpart, and she has kept me emotionally stable throughout the entirety of the last six months. And I would also thank all of the incredible team that I worked with when I was redeployed for their support, and their patience, and their kindness. It actually makes me feel emotional. Yeah.

Oh, I love King’s. The greatest thing about King’s is you learn a lot from King’s being that it’s a teaching hospital and it’s one of the best hospitals in the world, and I’m really, really proud working here. And then I’m also proud working in accident and emergency where I think you grab a lot of knowledge and updates in health issues. So, that’s what I like about King’s College.

“All the doctors who come to King’s enjoy it very much. There are excellent opportunities for learning and progression. It’s a fantastic hospital, and I feel lucky to work here.”

King’s has quite a diverse population. It’s a very big education centre too and quite an international centre as well. So, you get all those bits of training, people from different places. You get exposed to people from different backgrounds from all over the world, with different training. Also patient wise, we are different cultures, so it’s multi-cultural and multi-educational. It’s a really a good centre to be in and to learn a lot.

I think we have an excellent, diverse bunch of staff here. We’ve a lot of different specialties, a lot of different experiences, and excellent knowledge. We have the potential, probably, to be one of the best in the country, if not the best, and I would love to work with those people to do that.
We’ve been given a great opportunity under the direction of Nicola Ranger, and we’re working currently with 18 wards. Working really closely with the ward leaders, all the nursing and medical staff. And getting an opportunity to have hand-on patient care, but help the staff to use their own initiatives to improve patient care and experience.
