We stand together
We believe that King’s is a special place to work that puts patients first.
Across our five sites, we deliver high quality healthcare services to the people of south London, the UK and beyond. We are one of the largest teaching hospitals in the country, and we’re recognised as a world-class centre of specialist clinical and research excellence.
We see over 1.5 million patients a year and provide a full range of high quality healthcare services. This includes local hospital services at all of our sites, and specialist services at King’s College Hospital in Camberwell and the Princess Royal University Hospital in Bromley.
We are also a world-class centre of specialist clinical and research excellence.
Patients and clinicians come to King’s from all over the world because of the skill and compassion of our people. Over the last 170 years, King’s has built its reputation as a world-class hospital, with roots that lie firmly in the heart of our community. Right from our origins caring for London’s poor and needy, and wounded soldiers from two world wars, the culture at King’s has always been one of creativity and enterprise.
As pioneers in medical research and innovative surgical techniques, we’re recognised internationally for our work in many areas, including Stroke and Major Trauma, Liver Disease and Transplantation, Neurosciences, Haemato-oncology, Cardiac, and Fetal Medicine.
And, as part of King’s Health Partners, we’re one of only six Academic Health Sciences Centres in the UK. This partnership brings together a world-leading university – King’s College London – and three successful NHS Foundation Trusts: Guy’s and St Thomas’, King’s College Hospital, and South London and Maudsley. Together we have an unrivalled range and depth of clinical and research expertise spanning both physical and mental health. We use our combined strengths to advance health and wellbeing by integrating world-class research, care and teaching.
We’re transforming King’s into a fundamentally new kind of Trust built around patient need, high quality care and great outcomes. We’re delivering this as part of a joined-up and well-managed healthcare system, built in partnership with GPs, commissioners and other healthcare providers, including our neighbouring acute trusts.
We’re proud of our teams and the way they support, encourage and look out for one another. We also challenge ourselves and each other to keep improving. And with every new challenge we rise to, we stand together and put patients first.
