What I like best about my job is the people. The people in my team are fabulous. It’s like home from home. And even now that we have work from home, we all still linked because it’s such a great place to work. We all just enjoy coming in. I would say this would be one of the best decision you would ever make. It’s really nice to know that we’re giving something back to the community. Likewise, others are giving it back to where I live as well. So it’s good to know I am making an impact no matter how small it is.

King’s is a world-renowned hospital, and I think it’s making life-changing impacts on people every day. You can be a part of a team that actually really helps society, the people around you, looking after people at their most vulnerable times. Absolutely, apply.

Do it. It’s worthwhile, and I think that a lot of people don’t. They really underestimate themselves and their value, and what they can offer. And I think that they should just do it, because they’ll see that they are valued, and they do have things that they can offer in different areas. I think that every day is different, so it’s a new different challenge with different patients coming through. So, it’s nice to see different people. I think it’s the teamwork, and the feeling of the fact that you’re in a family because everybody’s working together. Especially through the pandemic, it felt like everybody’s trying to help each other.

Come, you’re welcome. You will never find, you can work anywhere and I’ve worked in the NHS for many years, you tell by the gray hair. I’ve never found my spiritual home until I came to King’s. And it’s the people that make it that.

Team King’s is a community. I’ve been working there for over 23 years, so I grew up here. My kids were born in this trust. I’ve basically spent all of my life working here. I am part of King’s, and King’s is part of me. It’s my community. I would say come with your whole luggage, because you’ll probably work here for so long, you’ll get married here, have your kids here, just like I do. So you come in for six months, and you end up spending 16 years. It’s a lovely place to work.
