  I’ve been to Denmark Hill and all the sites as well. So I know we are doing a really, really great job in helping the patients, not just in a medical perspective, but also nursing-wise. I think we are doing great in taking care of the patients and answering and addressing their needs. I get to help a lot of patients, especially in my role as a neuro rehab nurse. I get to help them for rehab. It’s very fulfilling as well, for me.

“The best part is seeing the improvement in my patients, helping them to come back to their normal life and do the things they love. Even though there are different teams, we all have the same goal of serving the community.”

  In this kind of work, there’s a couple that are fantastic. And it would be Caroline Taylor, who’s the Head of Speech. She’s just outstanding in everything she does, and very, very calm at all times. And then I think Azuska, who’s one of our band sixes on Frank Cooksey. She goes above and beyond what is required of her role, just at all times. But all of my sixes are just fantastic.

  Every day is different. Every patient’s different. Every day is a challenge. And you’re always faced with something new that you have to learn to overcome. Do it, just do it. It’s worth it.

  You’re never too old to try. You’re never too old to apply. And just, I’ve always said that you should always try these things. And if they’re not for you, then they’re not for you. But if you think that you enjoy working with great teams, staff teams, you enjoy personal interaction with patients, then just do an application form. And see where it takes you.

  What I love about it is that we’re a huge team, and it’s a multi-cultural team, and we all work together really well to achieve what we need to do for the patients. It’s always fun. It’s never dull or kind of quiet. And this year been really, really dramatic and unforgettable, I would say. Yeah, I love the job.
