  It’s a good opportunity. You can always climb the ladder. If you like working with other people, then it’s brilliant. We’re fortunate to have a really good team at Beckenham, and then, we all support each other. And, yeah, I think that’s probably the best part, and knowing that we help patients.

  The best thing about it is helping people, making sure things are running smoothly and seeing people, calming people down because it’s quite a nerve wracking thing coming into a hospital.

  I’ve worked at lots of different hospitals and I’ve come back here to work. It’s a fantastic hospital, it’s world renowned. The services are amazing. The teaching’s fantastic and it’s just a really fun place to work.

  I like to try and do my job properly. And it’s good to work as part of a team when you’ve got a support group with you as well. I like the challenge, as well. It’s nice to know that when you’re coming to work, obviously we’re coming to work to do our job, but it’s nice to know that in the background, that people recognize that as well… That you try and do your best with the job.

  I’ve always wanted to work for the NHS, and King’s in particular, because it’s a very good hospital and I just like working with people and making a difference to patients. It’s nice to see that we do make a difference. It’s been very difficult during COVID, but I think we’ve come through it very well together and helped a lot of people, hopefully.

  It’s great, those are the little things that actually makes you feel that your job is appreciated. And although our job is behind the curtains, compared to clinical staff, knowing that we’re there. And hopefully, our contribution makes a difference.

  What I love about my job is that every day is different. I love helping people, especially the old, yeah. I love my job. The colleagues, the compassion, the empathy. I love everything about it. You feel like it’s a family, yeah. You feel like you belong.
