What I love most about my job role is that it’s a rehab role. So I really get to work with patients. I see them progress from when they first came in to when they leave as well. The team is great. Literally, the team is great. You get treated like family here. It’s just a great environment to work. And you don’t feel alone. Somebody is always there to help you. You don’t feel nervous. It makes you really appreciate life more as well also.

We are a big organisation, and I think every day it makes you feel proud that you are part of that team, especially under the challenging situations we’re going through at the moment in the national news across the NHS. I chose King’s because my family have had dealings with Kings over various years, and so I think being proud to work for what I feel the service has been fantastic to my family, so being proud to be part of that now.

I think what makes me proud is that I work with a very resilient team. They’re challenged, they’re hard working and they always rise to the top. When things get tough, when things are very difficult, when the chips are down, the team always pull together and really deliver excellent care, and that’s what I’m most proud of. I’m proud of the department, I’m proud of the site, and I’m proud of fundamentally my team.

I’ve grown so much only because I’ve been placed into the situations and scenarios where King’s have allowed my own freedom to work, but at the same time, they’ve allowed a really good guidance and educational on top of the freedom. Although sometimes some of the bigger, older seniors are kind of brainy and smart, they also have a very kind touch and a sense of humor and they’re very genuine as people and that’s the best part I like.
